학교에 가면 태양광으로 전기를 충전하는 ‘충전소(牛) SOLAR COW’가 있다. 한국의 스타트업 회사 YOLK는 태양광으로 충전하는 휴대용 배터리와 전등을 개발하여 판매 중 입니다.

이 제품은 타임즈 선정 최고 혁신 제품으로 선정되었고, 2019년 미국 최대의 전기, 전자 제품 박람회인 CES에서 혁신 쇼케이스 상을 수상해서 현장에서 전시 행사를 가졌고, 월스트리트저널(WSJ) 등 다양한 매체에서 보도하였습니다.

현재, 한국의 정부 산하 기관인 KOICA와 각 국 NGO와 공동으로 케냐와 탄자니아 지역에 더 많은 ‘태양광 소’를 설치하는 프로젝트를 추진하여 지역 사회 발전에 공헌하고 있는 착한 기업 입니다.

Korean startup YOLK is the maker of Solar Cow, a solar-powered charging station that is shaped like a cow. YOLK won the Aid Innovation Challenge at the 2018 AidEx in Brussels and selected one the best Innovation Product by TIME magazine. YOLK also awarded to Innovation Showcase in 2019 CES (USA) and had a great chance to show this awesome product to the visitors.

At CES, WSJ reported this wonderful product to the public and other media had a deep interest in their activities. Collaboration with KOICA (Affiliated Non-profit Organization of Korea Government) and NGO’s, YOLK is doing the social impact project to distribute Solar Cow to the children who do not have a chance to attend school due to child labor forced by their parents in Kenya and Tanzania today.

Thanks to getting free charged solar battery, the parents allow their children to attend school now.
