M. Scott Peck wrote the best definition of love I ever found.

“Love is the will to extend one’s self for the purpose of nurturing one’s own or another’s spiritual growth… Love is as love does. Love is an act of will — namely, both an intention and an action. Will also implies choice. We do not have to love. We choose to love.”

The Road Less Travelled and Beyond, page 67

God forbids Adam and Eve to eat of the fruit of the ‘Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. But they give in to temptation. When God asks why they are hiding, they explained it is because they are naked.

In other words, the first result of eating of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil is that Adam and Eve become shy or modest because of they are now self-conscious.
